The Philadelphia Flyers (24-20-10) will look to get back on track before the Olympic break when they take on the Washington Capitals (28-22-7) on Tuesday at Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia.

Philadelphia has been in a tailspin over the past 13 games, going on a six-game winless streak, then five points in three games, and now back to the drop, winless in their last four games. In that 13-game stretch, they have earned just 7 points. In the past five, the Flyers are 1-3-1.

Things have been better for Washington lately, as the Capitals have won three of their past five, going 3-1-1. In their past 10, the Capitals are 4-5-1. Things are looking up for Washington.

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Game Notes

From the sound of things, Washington goalie Clay Stevenson will be making his third start in four days, as the Capitals’ goalie depth took a hit with injuries to both Charlie Lindgren and Logan Thompson. Washington did call up a backup goalie, but with just one more game after Tuesday for the Caps, it sounds like Stevenson will get the work.

That said, Stevenson should be tired, so it could be a good opportunity for the Flyers score some goals.

Tuesday will be the third game with Sean Couturier in the 4C role, but both the captain and Rick Tocchet have talked about finding Couturier more time, despite his 4C role. Watching his usage will be something I am paying extra attention to.

Carl Grundstrom draws back into the lineup. He has taken a seat for the past couple of games. Rick Tocchet has mentioned his intention to rotate the 4th-line wingers to ensure no one sits too long. However, I think Grundtsrom and Couturier could be a good duo. I am intrigued by watching them play together on Tuesday.
