The Dallas Stars held their own Olympics opening ceremony at the American Airlines Center when they honored their seven players who will suit up for their respective countries in the Games in Milan.
A youth hockey player from the Dallas-Fort Worth area representing each country skated onto the ice carrying a flag of the four countries represented: Canada, Czech Republic, Finland and the United States.
The Stars’ “Finnish Mafia”, comprised of Mikko Rantanen, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell and Roope Hintz, will represent Team Finland. Goalie Jake Oettinger will suit up for Team USA, Thomas Harley will represent Team Canada and Radek Faksa of the Czech Republic will suit up for Team Czechia.
Stars GM Jim Nill was also honored, as he is serving as the Assistant GM of Team Canada.

The men’s Olympic hockey tournament will run from Feb. 11-22 with the gold medal game taking place on Feb. 22.
