Key Stories to Watch

Colorado is 2-4-1 in its last seven games. That stretch includes a 0-2-1 stretch in the last three at home.
The Avs will play without Martin Necas for the third consecutive game. Necas is expected to participate in the Olympics for Team Czechia, but was a late scratch and labeled day-to-day last Saturday in Detroit. Gabe Landeskog is also out, but will be with Team Sweden in Italy.
The Sharks have lost two straight games and are 4-5-1 in their last 10. They are 1-1-0 against Colorado this season.
Kiefer Sherwood, whom the Sharks acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in January, will make his debut for San Jose.
Mackenzie Blackwood gets the nod in goal against Yaroslav Askarov. Blackwood started both of the previous games against his former team, recording a shutout at Ball Arena in November.
