Leon Draisaitl clearly isn’t happy.
The Edmonton Oilers lost 4-3 to a subpar Calgary Flames team on Wednesday night, and speaking with the media postgame, Draisaitl summed up the reality quite simply.
“Just not good enough right now,” Draisaitl told reporters.
It’s a fair take from the offensive superstar.
The Oilers have now lost three in a row. That began with a 7-3 defeat to the Minnesota Wild. Then, they lost 5-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
And now, this loss to the Flames.

It’ll leave a tough taste in the Oilers’ mouths, since it was their last game before the Olympic break.
Edmonton’s stars will now head to Italy, including Draisaitl to play for Germany.
Draisaitl didn’t have a terrible end to the portion of hockey before the Olympics.
On Jan. 26 in a win over the Ducks, he had four assists.
Three days later to beat the Sharks in overtime, Draisaitl had a goal and two assists.
He scored a goal in the 7-3 loss to the Wild but was a minus-2, then didn’t score and was minus-1 against the Leafs.
On Wednesday night, Draisaitl had two goals and was a plus-1 in the Oilers’ defeat.
The Oilers are still in second place in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division and will come back from the Olympics in strong control of their own playoff destiny.
Still, they’d surely like to hit the ground running out of the break in a way they weren’t performing heading into it.
