Scott Arniel looked like a man who had just seen a ghost after the 5–1 loss to our Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night at the Canada Life Centre.

Let’s be honest, it was embarrassing for the Jets to see their own stands turn into an extension of the Bell Centre. The Manitoba bench boss admitted it was the worst hostile home atmosphere he has experienced in four years.

Let’s call it like it is: hearing the “Olé, Olé, Olé” echo through your own building while the game isn’t even over hits hard. Arniel was visibly disappointed by the lack of support.

On the ice, Monty was on fire with 36 saves to shut down the opposing attacks. Marty St-Louis’ group completely took control with five unanswered goals.

What happened in the stands last night really pushed the Jets’ head coach over the edge

Jets head coach Scott Arniel was asked what it’s like to play in front of that many fans of the opposing team while at home:

“Yeah, that’s pretty disappointing. That’s probably the worst that I’ve seen it in my 4 years back here tonight. That was really disappointing.”

Zachary Bolduc, with his 57 NHL games played this season, is also showing some very good things. He’s even making an interesting physical impact with over 100 hits to his name.

There’s no beating around the bush: the Jets are in full-blown crisis with a 22-26-8 record heading into the break. They lost 10 of their last games before recently beating the Devils.

Playing at home in front of that many tricolour jerseys is the ultimate insult for a struggling club.

You can feel the frustration boiling over for Scott Arniel, who no longer recognizes his team.

This loss really shook him, especially with the Habs-heavy atmosphere that took over the building.
