On Wednesday afternoon, it was released that star Penn State men’s hockey player Gavin McKenna was being charged with a felony for aggravated assault, among other charges.

The hockey world reacted quickly to the news. We’ve gathered some of the most popular posts regarding the incident.

Can take the kid out of the western league but can’t take the western league out of the kid. Rob Blake got into a fight on the ride to the draft and he’s in the hall of fame just saying

Ryan Whitney, former NHL player and member of Spittin’ Chiclets, commented on the situation.

Mike Grinnell, also a part of Spittin’ Chiclets, made a video regarding McKenna, reiterating Whitney’s point.

Wise words!

Oh, hey blog!

Gavin McKenna is a disgrace to the sport of hockey. Committing felonies in your draft year is disgusting and I personally believe he should fall to the Oilers in the draft as punishment https://t.co/5IDC4Iy521

Lots of jokes about McKenna being drafted to other teams now.

I can’t believe people are hoping Gavin McKenna’s reputation and career are over after he defended his own mother from a guy who was harassing her.

Shut up and go be in your agenda pushing feelings somewhere else.

You people are losers, cancel culture mob mentality is the issue
