While his teammates are shopping for plane tickets to the South, Lane Hutson has decided to stay in the cold.

Let’s be honest — our young prodigy never does things like everyone else. Unlike his teammate Ivan Demidov, who took off to Florida.

Let’s call it like it is: the young defenseman is a true hockey diehard.

Starting Monday, he’ll be in Boston to cheer on his former teammates during the Beanpot final.

It’s a chance for him to relive the college atmosphere before flying to Chicago. Once there, he plans on spending some time with his family.

A pure, hard-core hockey lover on outdoor rinks

Hutson plans to spend his week playing hockey on outdoor rinks. No question about it — this guy breathes the sport 24 hours a day.

Let’s be honest, it’s refreshing to see a rookie with this kind of mindset. Instead of running away from the ice, he chases every loose puck in a neighborhood park.

The defenseman already averages significant ice time in the NHL this season. Yet his desire to play remains intact, even in the middle of February.

You can bet Martin St-Louis loves seeing this level of commitment from his young pillar. Lane Hutson once again proves he has the Tricolore logo tattooed on his heart.

He’ll come back from this break on fire for the NHL’s return. We already can’t wait to see him carry the puck with his steady execution.
