The Buffalo Sabres gave an Olympic sendoff for captain Rasmus Dahin and leading scorer Tage Thompson before Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Sabres lost 5-2.
Dahlin will represent Sweden in Milan and Thompson will play for Team USA.
The team also recognized goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukonen, who was selected to play for Team Finland, but can no longer compete due to an injury.
The Sabres now enter the Olympic break.Â
The team next plays Feb. 25 against the New Jersey Devils.
