However, before we can make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL will break for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

As the league hits the reset button after the first half, this intermission permits NHL players to partake in the Milan 2026 Winter Olympics.

Approximately 150 current players are set to compete at the Winter Games, and all 32 clubs will have at least one Olympian.

The NHL will pause operations for the 2026 Winter Olympics from Feb. 6 to Feb. 24, 2026, with the season resuming on Feb. 25.

Additionally, a league-wide roster freeze will be enforced from 3 p.m. ET on Feb. 4 through Feb. 22.
