Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger has a lot to play for at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy as trade talks continue to heat up involving his name.

“Given how Blueger has performed for Vancouver, and given the significant premium price that teams around the NHL are demanding for centres, the Canucks have set a relatively high price point for Blueger in trade talks.” Thomas Drance of The Athletic said this week.

He added, “Based on what I’m hearing about Blueger’s market value, Vancouver is looking for at least a third-round pick as it considers selling Blueger before the trade deadline, and it may actually take somewhat more than that for a team to actually land him ahead of deadline day.”

There’s no question that Teddy Blueger will be traded by Patrik Allvin before 12 pm PT on March 6th, but it’s unclear if they’ll get exactly what they want for the former Stanley Cup champion.

In a recent article for Daily Hive, Trevor Beggs believes that Teddy Blueger can increase his trade value with a strong performance at the 2026 Winter Olympics, with Latvia set to open things up next Thursday against the United States.”The more important aspect for Canucks fans is his trade value. The Athletic’s Thomas Drance reported that the Canucks want, at least, a third-round pick in return for Blueger.

Could a strong Olympic performance further enhance his value?” Beggs said.

Blueger is going to have a big role for Latvia at the Olympics, likely as their first or second line centerman along with a spot on their top power play unit, so there’s no question he’ll have the opportunity to increase his trade value and hopefully for the Canucks’ sake, he’ll be able to produce a ton offensive to the point where they can actually get that third round pick they’re seeking.
