The big splash trade move on the block this past week on Feb. 4 that brought forward Artemi Panarin from the Rangers in New York to the Los Angeles Kings in the West this regular season stocked the star power offensively scoring the puck for head coach Jim Hiller this upcoming spring.
Could a Warren Foegele reunion with the Edmonton Oilers be possible via a Andrew Mangiapane trade with the Los Angeles Kings move?
The roster freeze is on in the league in the NHL for the next couple of weeks in 14 days this regular season.
New general manager Ken Holland and the Kings’ front office has been busy making it a known priority that LA is working on making more moves on the trade block this regular season in the West to add more offensive scoring in the top-six forward core group in the next few weeks in the Pacific Division.
The Kings have a plethora of depth and talent offensively in the active roster lineup with the top-nine forward core group this regular season in the West in the Pacific Division. There is a chance that the Kings could pull off a trade to send forward Warren Foegele to a Pacific Division rival in the West this regular season to bring a new face to town to spark the active roster lineup scoring the puck offensively.
“Warren Foegele had a great year last year. He’s been out of the lineup for the last couple of games. Got to work the phones here.”

Sportnet’s Oilers writer Mark Spector pitched the idea on his X account on Sunday (Feb. 8) that the Kings could trade Foegele to the Oilers in Edmonton in the West for forward Andrew Mangiapane in the Pacific Division this regular season on the trade block.
Mangiapane is currently in the first year of a two-year contract worth around $3.6 million in average annual value through the end of the 2026-27 season in the league. Foegele, meanwhile, is in the second year of a three-year deal with the Kings in LA that pays him roughly $3.5 million in average annual value through the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.
Holland joined the NHL on TNT crew this past week and he hinted at the possibility of the Kings in the West trading Foegele this regular season.
Foegele and Mangiapane have struggled to produce offensively in the zone scoring the puck this regular season. For the Kings, Foegele has registered just six goals and eight total points in the West this regular season in over 40 games played.
Mangiapane, meanwhile, has scored a half-dozen goals and a dozen total points for the Oilers in the West in the Pacific Division in nearly 50 games played for Edmonton this regular season.
