Canada’s Olympic hockey team spent more time bonding together ahead of their first game of the tournament on Thursday.

Tuesday, the group of hockey players, which included Washington Capitals stars Tom Wilson and Logan Thompson, attended the the speed-skating short track event at the Milan Ice Skating Arena.

Wilson posted a photo of the group together and it’s epic.

Wilson, on the bottom row in the aisle seat, sits next to Nate MacKinnon, Darcy Kuemper, Sam Reinhart, Colton Parayko, Drew Doughty, Mitch Marner, Devon Toews, and Josh Morrissey. Above Wilson sat Jordan Binnington, Brad Marchand, Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar, Seth Jarvis, Logan Thompson, Sam Bennett, Nick Suzuki, and others.

During the event, the Canadian hockey players got a scare when American skater Corinne Stoddard slipped and crashed into Korean skater Kim Gilli, hitting a padded wall hard. Canadian Courtney Sarault narrowly avoided the mess in the short track mixed team relay semi-finals heat, which helped Canada advance to the finals.

In the finals, Canada’s Sarault, Kim Boutin, William Dandjinou, and Félix Roussel captured silver after recording a time of 2:39.258.

After the event, the players created a social media stir when they took the Milan metro to their next stop. The team, including Thompson, later participated in a watch party.

On Monday night after practice, the team went exploring in Milan, visiting the Duomo di Milano (the Milan Cathedral). The gothic cathedral is the largest in the country and took six centuries to build. It’s located at the city center.

Canada’s first game is on Thursday at 10:40 am against Czechia.
