Vincent Trocheck, a trade target of the Detroit Red Wings, dropped a hint of his potential next destination in a new interview live from the Olympic Games.

Steve Yzerman has enough trade assets and cap space to add an interesting player (or two) to the team.

Most analysts deem Vincent Trocheck as a player who would be a great fit in Detroit.

However, the Wings won’t be the only team in the running.

A small gesture from Trocheck live from the Olympics suggests he could join another team.

Trocheck Linked To Minnesota Wild At Olympic Games

The New York Rangers appear poised to trade Trocheck before the deadline. In addition to the Red Wings, we can confirm that the Minnesota Wild should be in the discussions as well.

“I’d like to add a forward at some point in time if it makes sense. If we can do it. It’s always talked about with our team, adding a center. Of course, we’d love to have a center.”

Considering the win-now approach in Minnesota, Guerin is likely to target the best players available, and Trocheck is surely on his list.

But something else happened at the Olympics that suggests Trocheck could end up joining the Wild.

During Team USA’s photo session, he jokingly tried to get in the Minnesota Wild players’ and staff picture, per Michael Russo:

There’s no doubt that the Wings are in a position to make a much better offer to the Rangers.

The Wild already parted ways with significant assets in the Quinn Hughes trade with the Canucks, while the Wings have been holding on to theirs for years now.
