FARGO — Unseasonably warm weather expected later this week has postponed the annual Fargo Pond Hockey Classic, originally slated for this weekend where temperatures are expected in the low 40s.

The tournament, hosted by the Fargo Park District, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, March 1, at Lindenwood Park in south Fargo. Registration will reopen and close on Monday, Feb. 23.

The Pond Hockey Classic consists of three levels of play (novice, silver, gold) with teams playing a 3-on-3 format with up to six players per side and no goaltenders.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
