SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Mammoth Ice Center will host a grand opening the weekend before its doors officially open on Monday, February 23.

The event spans three days and will feature dozens of activities, one of which is a University of Utah vs. BYU alumni game.

The grand opening will start on Friday, February 20, at 3:00 p.m. (MT). The facility will be open until 10:00 p.m. that night.

On Saturday, the doors open at 7:30 a.m. (MT) and activities will run all day until 10:00 p.m. On Sunday, activities will run from 6:10 a.m. (MT) to 8:30 p.m.

Some of the daily events include Public Skate, Try Hockey for Free, Adult Clinic, High School Clinic, Stick + Puck, and Open Practice.

There will be multiple headliner activities on each day.

To open the day on Friday, fans can take on-ice photos. There will be a Utah High School Girls Hockey League Jamboree in the evening, and then two games come later that night. A Utah Amateur Hockey League (UAHL) game at 8:00 p.m., and the Utes vs. Cougars alumni game at 8:30 p.m.

After two more UAHL games on Saturday, there will be a Gold Medal game early in the morning on Sunday.

About The Utah Mammoth Ice Center Grand Opening

A press release from the Utah Mammoth reads:

Up to 300 fans each day will have the opportunity to attend the first open-to-the-public Utah Mammoth practices on Saturday and Sunday, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the team.

Following Saturday’s session, select Mammoth players will sign one (1) item per fan in attendance.

Advance registration is required, and space is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
