The Philadelphia Flyers have too many wingers, and more are coming. In the top-9 there are six possible spots on the wing for Matvei Michkov, Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster, Bobby Brink, Denver Barkey, Porter Martone, and Alex Bump. And what if Trevor Zegras is just better suited to play left wing? What if Danny Briere acquires another center who isn’t necessarily a first or second liner, and Noah Cates gets bumped to the flank? Not to mention all the prospect wingers taken in the top-half of the draft over the last few years. The Flyers are strong and overly deep at one position, and it’s the wing.
Today, Charlie & Bill look at the Flyers glut of wingers, and talk about scenarios in which the group could be thinned out. Plus, more Olympic talk with both Canada (sans Travis Sanheim) & the US in action today.
