The Vancouver Canucks have unveiled a new logo to their fans on social media this week that will be shown a lot at an upcoming game in March for celebratory purposes.
Whether it’s the ‘Stick in Rink’, the ‘Skate’, the ‘V’ or the Orca, all Vancouver Canucks fans have their favourite, but beyond the main logo we see each and every game, the club has also utilized some great local artists for celebratory nights.

In a social media post earlier this week, the Vancouver Canucks released a new logo for Black Excellence night, which is set for Monday, March 2nd at Rogers Arena against the Dallas Stars.
“A unique representation of heritage and culture.
Introducing this year’s #Canucks Black Excellence logo, designed by artist Ejiwa “Edge” Ebenebe (@artofedge).” the Canucks said on X.
The logo, which was created by artist Ejiwa “Edge” Ebenebe features the team’s ‘Skate’ with colors of the Nigerian flag, patterns of Calabash, as well as the use of gold, which is a tie in to Nigeria’s national flower, the Yellow Trumpet.
“A calabash is crafted from a dried, hollowed-out gourd into which patterns are hand-carved. They are used many ways in Nigerian village homes, from cooking utensils to storage. Waving grass, cowrie shells and shining stars make up the patterns, reflecting the environment and memories of the calabash’s creator.” the Canucks said.
When creating the logo, Ebenebe said that she wanted to use the team’s famous Skate logo and incorporate her Nigerian roots and quite frankly, it turned out really, really well.
“I wanted to keep the iconic shapes of the Skate logo intact, but represent a unique and beautiful expression of my Nigerian heritage.” Ebenebe said.
Hoodies, t-shirts, hats, pucks and more are now available for purchase on the team’s official store, with fans urged to not wait as supply is very limited, especially for the jersey.
