Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk collected two assists in the United States electrifying 5-1 win over Latvia at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
Tkachuk’s sweet saucer pass set up little brother Brady for the game-opneing goal 5:29 into the action. He also drew the secondary helper on Brock Nelson’s second goal of the game with 12 seconds left in the middle frame.
The older Tkachuk logged 17:55 of ice time and finished the game with four shots on goal and a plus-two rating.
Uvis Balinksis played a game-high 24:13 for the Latvians. He registered one shot on goal and finished with a plus-one rating as he was on the ice for Renars Krastenbergs’ goal which tied the game in the first period.
Sandis Vimanis was credited with one shot on goal in his 15:40 of ice time and went minus-one.
Brad Marchand set up Bo Hovart’s goal in Canada’s 5-0 win over Czechia
Marchand finished the game with two shots on goal and a plus-one rating. He logged 9:29 of ice time.
Sam Reinhart was on the ice for Horvat’s goal, which put Canada up by three, earning a plus. Reinhart registered one shot on goal in the first period while playing a total of 10:01.
Sam Bennett was Canada’s 13th foward. He logged 7:19 of ice time, had one shot on goal and won two of the five faceoffs he took.
In the other Thursday results, Germany beat Denmark 3-1 and Switzerland blanked France by a 4-0 count.
