“Two or three weeks ago, I had a visitor at the Bell Centre who has cancer — and he’s four years old. The biggest Canadiens fan I’ve ever met, four years old. He had one week to do whatever he wanted before starting therapy. Then he’s facing two years of treatment.
So I asked — and I can’t tell you how special the Canadiens are — but in 18 years, I had never asked them for a favor. With this young boy visiting, and wanting to give him the best night of his life, I asked if it was at all possible that after the game he could have a short meeting with anyone. It could be Cole, who’s one of his favorites, it could be Arber, one of his favorites, or Lane.
Cole said, absolutely, I’ll do it.
Cole spent time with the family, and he brought the young boy and his brother onto the ice to take pictures. You have no idea how good of a guy he is. What he did really touched me. Truly.”
