Caroline Harvey was at the 2022 Winter Olympics, but she was the least-played skater for the Team USA women’s hockey team.

This time around, she’s been one of the best players on the ice as the United States chases a gold medal in Milan 2026.

Harvey, a defender who plays at national powerhouse Wisconsin, has captured the attention of the entire hockey world.

For example: Florida Panthers and U.S. men’s star Matthew Tkachuk compared Harvey to Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr.

“Caroline Harvey’s like Bobby Orr,” Tkachuk said, via The Athletic. “She was the best player on the ice, and felt like, by a lot, like she was incredible.”

He said that after the United States blitzed Canada in a 5-0 win in the preliminary round. Harvey is up to a team-leading seven points in the Olympics entering the knockout rounds.

U.S. vs. Canada is expected to be the gold medal match, with the United States having won gold in 2018 before Canada got it back in 2022.

They’re still on a collision course, but it looks like Team USA might hold the upper hand.

Part of the reason for that is the emergence of Harvey. She isn’t technically a new Olympian, but she’s new to this massive role.

And if Harvey keeps playing like Orr, no one will be beating the United States anytime soon.
