Macklin Celebrini is one of the best hockey players in the world, and his Olympic star turn with Team Canada is serving as confirmation.

Celebrini scored Canada’s first goal of the tournament Thursday and is fitting in alongside Connor McDavid on one of the most talented teams ever assembled. The former No. 1 overall draft pick is hoping to bring some of the lessons he learns from Canadian teammates back to San Jose, and the Sharks are eager to see how an Olympic experience can benefit Celebrini.

What’s next for a Sharks franchise that’s hoping to secure a playoff berth this season? How can GM Mike Grier and coach Ryan Warsofsky continue building upon the progress the team has made?

Sharks Hockey Digest (opens in new tab) reporter Max Miller (opens in new tab) joined “Section 415” to analyze the team’s rise, next steps, and what the future holds for a franchise that suddenly has the Bay Area paying attention to hockey again.
