A Montreal Canadiens star is officially growing his family! Alternate captain Brendan Gallagher and his wife, Emma Fortin, shared news that they’re expecting their second child in a carousel of intimate photos shared on social media.
“Soon to be four,” the couple wrote in their joint Instagram post on Monday, which featured snapshots of themselves cozying up on the beach with Fortin showing off her baby bump.
In the comments section of the post, fellow wives and girlfriends of NHL players and fans rejoiced. The official account for the Montreal Canadiens also commented with blue, white and red heart emojis.
“Pregnancy announcement of a dream, oh my gosh, these are so beautiful,” Jordan Leigh Laine, the wife of Montreal Canadiens right winger Patrik Laine, commented. “So happy for you three!”
“Sooo excited!” Caitlin Suzuki, wife of Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki, added.
“Congratulations to the perfect family,” one person wrote, along with four white heart emojis. “I can’t wait to meet this baby!!”
“Yay, cutest family,” another person chimed in.
Gallagher, 33, and Fortin, 29, welcomed their first child, Everly Mona Della Gallagher, in early 2025. Gallagher shared the update during a post-game interview published on March 4.
“I’m a dad now. It’s been a week now,” Gallagher said at the time, explaining that was the reason he’d taken a leave of absence from the team.
“So it’s new. Obviously, it’s a little less sleep than I’m used to, but it’s been awesome. … I’ve enjoyed it. Emma’s been awesome. We’re learning on the go here, but so far we love every second of it.”
The couple first met in 2021, and eventually got engaged in July 2023. Back then, Gallagher got down on one knee at Lost Lake in Whistler, B.C., to which Fortin shared photos of the “magical” moment and shared that 30 years prior, her parents got engaged in the same spot.
In July 2024, the duo tied the knot during the “wedding of our dreams.” They stuck close to home, hosting a ceremony at Montreal’s Maison Principale.
