The Vancouver Canucks have finally received some positive news on the injury front regarding several of their players, one week before they return to game action.

After nearly two weeks off, the Vancouver Canucks returned to the ice for practice at the University of British Columbia on Tuesday as they prepare for their first game post-Olympic break, which is set for next Wednesday against their biggest rival, the Edmonton Oilers.

“It was a headshot. It was shoulder and his head. I’m sure the league will look at it because it was, even though he may have been desperate to get Boes down because it was a scrum at the net, I still think it was something that you got to be in control of your body. I thought it was a little bit of a vicious, vicious hit to the head.” Foote said earlier this month after Brock Boeser was hit in the head by Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust.

Yesterday’s practice was split up into two groups and in the first group, Brock Boeser and Marco Rossi were on the ice in regular jerseys, while Filip Chytil also took to the ice, albeit in a non-contact sweater after he left their game earlier this month in Utah with migraine issues.

“Boeser, Rossi — and Chytil (in a non-contact jersey) — among first #Canucks to hit the ice at UBC.” Jeff Paterson of Canucks Army said.

Defenseman Zeev Buium was among those skating in the second group and after he suffered a facial fracture prior to the break, he remains in a non-contact sweater and was wearing a face shield on Tuesday.

“Buium on practice ice with second group in face shield and red non-contact jersey. #Canucks” Ben Kuzma of The Province shared on X.

The status of all four player for next Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers remains unclear at this time, as they still have a week to get back up to 100 percent ahead of the final stretch of the regular season.

However, given how things looked at practice yesterday, it’s safe to say that Brock Boeser and Marco Rossi are much closer to a return than Zeev Buium and Filip Chytil.
