What a day for men’s hockey at the Winter Olympics. The Semifinals are set after an eventful Quarterfinal Round that featured three games going to overtime.
Two of the three Philadelphia Flyers’ participants are moving on as well. Here’s the latest on how they have performed.
Travis Sanheim – Team Canada
Travis Sanheim was back in a reduced role for Canada, playing just 8:52, the fewest among defensemen. He had one shot on goal.
Nick SuzukiMitch Marner
Sidney Crosby
Dan Vladar – Team Czechia
Dan Vladar never got another start following his game against France. He finished with Czechia’s only win of preliminary play. Lukas Dostal was in goal for Czechia’s 4-3 overtime loss to Canada. Vladar will return home to join the rest of his Flyers teammates as they prepare for the return from the break.
Rasmus Ristolainen – Team Finland
Team Finland was on the ropes, trailing Switzerland 2-0 late into the second period. Finland tied the game before the end of the period. In overtime, Artturi Lehkonen capped off the comeback with the game-winning goal for a 3-2 final.
Rasmus Ristolainen was minus-2 in 20:03 of ice time.
Team USA
Goals were at a premium in the final game of Wednesday’s schedule. It took more than half of regulation for either team to get on the board, with Dylan Larkin breaking the ice at 11:03 of the second period.
The US will face Slovakia on Friday at 3:10 PM.
