Quinn Hughes scored 3:27 into overtime to lift the United States to a 2-1 victory over Sweden in quarterfinal action from the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk played 17:25 in the hard-fought win and was credited with two shots on goal. He finished the tilt with an even rating.

Gustav Forsling logged 19:42 of ice time for the Swedes. He registered one shot on goal, took a slashing minor and was on the ice for Dylan Larkin’s game-opening goal.

Forsling finished the tournament with one goal, one assist, 4 PIM and a plus-three rating in five games played.

Anton Lundell sent Artturi Lehkonen away for the game-winning goal in overtime as Finland rallied for a 3-2 overtime win over Switzerland, who led by two with just over six minutes remaining in regulation.

Lundell played 14:27 in his return to the lineup after missing a game. He won five of 13 faceoffs, was credited with one shot on goal and finished with an even rating.

Eetu Luostarinen drew the primary assist on Sebastian Aho’s goal which got the Finns on the board 13:54 into the third. Luostarinen logged 13:10 of ice time, posted an even rating and put one shot on Swiss goaler Leonardo Genoni.

Niko Mikkola played 20:20 and was on the ice for both of Switzerland’s goals and for Lehkonen’s decider to finish with a minus-one rating. He made a nice back-checking play to deny a scoring chance in overtime. He was credited with one shot on goal.

Sam Reinhart and Brad Marchand saw limited ice time in Canada’s thrilling 4-3 overtime win over Czechia in what was the best game of the tournament thus far. Sam Bennett did not play.

Reinhart received 9:37 of playing time and was on the ice for Narthan MacKinnon’s second period power-play goal. He lost both of the draws he took and registered one shot on goal.

Marchand returned after missing two games and logged 7:13 of ice time. He was credited with one shot on goal and finished with a minus-one rating, coming on for Mark Stone, who had just turned the puck over, leading to a goal for the Czechs.

In the other quarterfinal game, Slovakia battered Germany by a 6-2 count. They will take on the United States in the semifinals on Friday.
