Florida Panthers teammates will be rivals on Sunday as they go for gold in the men’s hockey final between Team USA and Canada at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

Matthew Tkachuk and Team USA beat Slovakia 6-2 on Friday to get the Amerticans into the gold medal game.

Tkachuk had an assist in the win, his sixth of the 2026 Olympics.

Sunday’s game will be Team USA’s first appearance in the final since 2010, when they were beat by Canada in overtime.

They haven’t won since the “Miracle on Ice” in 1980.

Earlier Friday, Canada, with help from Florida forwards Brad Marchand, Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett, beat Finland 3-2.

‘Job’s not done’: Canada men ready for hockey gold medal match

Marchand made a key play to help Canada come back as they were down 2-1 midway through the third period.

The pesky forward was in his familiar spot, battling for position in front of the net, when Finalnd’s Erik Haula shoved him into goalie Juuse Saros. Marchand remained on top of the goalie long enough to delay Saros getting set as Canada’s Shea Theodore blasted a shot that beat him on the short side.

Tage Thompson recorded a goal assisted by Quinn Hughes and an assist as USA advance to the gold medal game at the Milan Olympics.

Sunday’s game will take place at 8:10 a.m. ET on NBC6.

The game can also be streamed on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com.
