The list of teams that are seriously interested in Evander Kane has grown in recent weeks, with National Hockey League insider Frank Seravalli sharing this week that there are now four or five club that have put their hats in the ring for the Canucks winger.

“I have heard that there seems to have been some progress on the Evander Kane front…4-5 teams have expressed legitimate interest. Canucks have been pretty focused on getting that off their plate.

Some of the teams are Dallas and Tampa.” Seravalli said.

During an appearance on Halford and Brough, Rick Dhaliwal reported that the Carolina Hurricanes have interest in Evander Kane as they look to beef up their roster ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with their sights set on reach the Final for the first time in two decades.

The Hurricanes are one team that could take on Evander Kane’s full cap hit with no issues as they’re projected to have a little over $40 million in available salary for the trade deadline.

Despite that though, the Hurricanes will probably still ask Patrik Allvin to retain some salary, maybe not the maximum of 50 percent, but maybe in the 25 percent range, would could net the Canucks a fourth round pick, the same piece that they gave up to get him from the Oilers last June.
