Finland claimed the Bronze medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan with a 6-1 win over Slovakia in front of crowd of 10, 522 at Santagiulia Arena.

Anton Lundell logged 18:30 of ice time, registered two shots on goal, won six of 11 faceoffs and posted a plus-one rating. Lundell finished the tournament with a goal and an assist and went plus-three with four PIM in five games played.

Eetu Luostarinen logged 16:39 of ice time, was credited with two shots on goal, and posted a even rating. Luostarinen finished the tournament with four assists and went plus-four with two PIM in six games played.

Niko Mikkola logged 18:44 of ice time, registered two shots on goal and posted a plus-two rating. Mikkola finished the tournament with three helpers and went plus-nine with four PIM in six games played.

The result mean’s that seven of the ten Panthers that participated in the tournament will bring home medals. Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart and Brad Marchand will get theirs after this morning’s clash of the titans between Canada and the United States.

Checkers

Ther Charlotte Checkers scored thrice in the third period to earn a 4-3 road win over the Syracuse Crunch. Nate Smith opened the scoring and his empty-netter with 1:42 remaining in regulation turned out to be the game-winner. MacKenzie Entwistle and Robert Mastrosimone also lit the lamp for the Checkers. Assists were credited to Jack Studnicka, Ben Steeves, WIlmer Skoog, Eamon Powell, Jake Livingstone and Mike Benning. Kirill Gerasimyuk made 28 saves to raise his record to 6-5-1.
