USA-Canada referees for 2026 Olympic hockey gold medal game

The main event of the 2026 Winter Olympics is finally here, with Team USA men’s hockey facing off against its hated rival, Canada, in the gold medal game of the Milan Cortina Games.

Team USA vs. Canada marks one of the final competitions at this year’s Olympics, so everyone is hoping for an epic clash to cap things off.

Canada enters the game as a slight favorite over the United States and is looking for its first gold medal since the 20214 Sochi Games, which is the last time that NHL players participated in the Winter Olympics.

Team Canada is a record nine-time Olympic champion, while Team USA is a two-time Olympic champion, with its last win being the historic “Miracle on Ice” in 1980.

While there is plenty of anticipation for the game, the hope is that the players will get to settle the score, and a controversial referee decision will not play a role. Throughout the tournament, there have been some questionable calls, so all eyes will be on the officiating crew.
