After all the thrills and spills of the Winter Olympics, we return to the halcyon days of the NHL season.

Luckily, for us Buffalo Sabres fans this campaign is not like the others from our recent past, for the simple reason that deep into February the Sabres are actually contending for the postseason.

The Sabres are in the first wildcard position and remain in good position to move into one of the division berths too. Buffalo have three games this week as the campaign picks up steam.

Wed, Feb 25th, 7pm EST – Buffalo Sabres (32-19-6) at New Jersey Devils (28-27-2)

Fri, Feb 27th, 7pm EST – Buffalo Sabres at Florida Panthers (29-25-3)

Sat, Feb 28th, 7pm EST – Buffalo Sabres at Tampa Bay Lightning (37-14-4)

The Amerks have continued to drop points and will have to string together some wins sooner than later. This week they play the three teams ahead of them in the division.

Wed, Feb 25th, 7:05pm EST – Rochester Americans (24-17-4-3) at Cleveland Monsters (27-16-6-1)

Fri, Feb 27th, 7:05pm EST – Rochester Americans vs Laval Rocket (33-15-2-3)

Sun, Mar 1st, 4pm ET – Rochester Americans at Syracuse Crunch (30-17-3-1)
