(Milan, Italy)–The United States men’s ice hockey team beat Canada 2-1 in overtime of the gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan yesterday. (Sunday) Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
Minnesota Wild player Matt Boldy opened the scoring for the U.S. in the first period. Wild players Boldy, Quinn Hughes, and Brock Faber are on the Team U.S.A. roster. There were also several former Gopher players on the roster as well.
Team U.S.A. has now earned three gold medals in Olympic men’s ice hockey.
