There were a lot of Canadians around, so we were a little reserved. It was fun watching it with the guys and cheering on some of our teammates,” said Bruins forward Casey Mittelstadt, who is from Minnesota.”They deserve it. They accomplished something big. And winning the gold medal is obviously everybody’s dream,” said David Pastrnak, who played for Team Czechia.Neither gold medalists Charlie McAvoy nor Jeremy Swayman made it back from Milan for Tuesday’s skate.Will they return in time for the first game back on Thursday night?”They got stuck in Miami, and now they’re, I guess, seeing the President, so honestly I’m not sure when they’ll arrive and hopefully arrive soon,” said Bruins head coach Marco Sturm.Two other Bruins brought home bronze medals; goalie Joonas Korpisalo and defenseman Henri Jokiharju for Finland.”My parents came over, my brother’s family came over for a while, my sister,” Jokiharju said. “Overall, I would say really, one of the best two weeks of my life.””Bringing home a medal is pretty cool, being part of that team,” said Korpisalo.As for the 25 games remaining, forward Pavel Zacha – who missed the Olympics due to a concussion – is back skating.This team is currently holding on to the second wild card spot, the 8th in the Eastern Conference.”Much needed time off and I think we’ve been ramping pretty good, but today the pace picked up with some special teams and whatnot,” said forward Morgan Geekie, who leads the team with 32 goals.Gold medalist Zach Werenski and his Columbus Blue Jackets will be at TD Garden on Thursday night for the 7 p.m. puck drop.
