Buffalo Sabres forward and now Olympic gold medalist Tage Thompson has rejoined the Blue and Gold after the Winter Olympics.

The Sabres are officially back from the more than two-week-long Olympic break, as they now drop the puck on a three-game road trip.

Prior to Wednesday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils, Thompson reflected on the experience.

“It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and to even be there is such an honor to even just be named an Olympian, but then to win gold is something, to be honest, I never thought could be a reality,” Thompson said. “It is something you dream about, but we have something really special going on here, too.”

The Sabres don’t return home until next Wednesday, when they play host to Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights.
