Swayman helped Team USA win Olympic gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. He returned to practice on Wednesday and said he’s available to start on Thursday if head coach Marco Sturm needs him to play.
“Whenever my name is called, I’ll be ready to go,” Swayman said after practice on Wednesday. “I was with the best players in the world every single day. … The experience that I took from that was staying as focused as you possibly can, being a professional in everything you do, and performing on the ice on the biggest stage.”
Swayman said he knows how important this stretch run is for the Bruins, so the star goalie is ready to play as much as needed.
“Obviously, we’ve got a job to do these next six weeks, so being back in the building was something I was looking forward to,” Swayman said. “I want to be ready right now.

“That’s why I wanted to come here today. I couldn’t wait another day to get back on the ice with these guys. Can’t wait to get started and push for playoffs.”
Swayman is 22-12-3 with a 2.92 GAA and a .903 SV% this season with the Bruins, as he’s helped Boston enter the Olympic break holding onto a playoff spot.
The Bruins host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Whether or not Swayman will start, or if it will be Joonas Korpisalo, is to be seen.
