The Avalanche started their post-Olympic schedule on a high note. They also welcomed Brett Kulak to the lineup for the first time and early indications are positive. Also, a chat with Sidney Crosby, and comments from Macklin Celebrini about his Olympic experience.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — February 26.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avs stormed out of the break with an impressive road victory against the Utah Mammoth.

It was also Brett Kulak’s debut, and he did not disappoint. Kulak led the team in one category while seemingly fitting in well in his first game with the Avalanche. Not bad for just one morning skate with his new teammates.

The Avs acquired Kulak from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday for Samuel Girard and a draft pick. Girard was falling out of favor with the emergence of Sam Malinski and needed a fresh start. The Penguins are going to give him that.
