What a way to start.

It took the Dallas Stars just nine seconds to find the net in a crucial Game 5 matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. Stars center Wyatt Johnston was able to slip one past Avs goalie Mackenzie Blackwood to score what’s officially the fastest goal in Stars playoff history, giving Dallas a very early 1-0 lead.

Per the ESPN broadcast, Johnston’s goal is the fifth quickest in league history.

This comes after a Game 4 loss in which the Stars were blanked by the Avalanche, shut out for 60 minutes in a 4-0 throttling.

Dallas may have made a statement with their quick strike this time around.
