WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Arena Project is organizing a watch party and festival for a Carolina Hurricanes playoff game in April.
During the event, organizers will present the results of the project’s market analysis conducted by Venue Strategies.
The analysis is part of the project’s independent third-party feasibility study, which organizers said is critical to moving the Wilmington Arena forward by providing a viability evaluation.
“Since completing the market analysis, the project is now raising money for the financial projections and economic impact portions of the study. These three components will allow the Wilmington Arena Project to secure institutional and endowment capital, as well as pre-sale naming rights and advertising space in the future arena,” project organizers wrote in a press release
According to the project’s website, it was founded in 2024 and aims to create a multi-purpose arena that would host sports and provide a venue for concerts, events and community activities.
The watch party and festival will include a jumbo screen for viewing, raffles, games and prizes, live music and food and beverages. The project is also looking for sponsors and raffle prizes from local businesses.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. on April 25. The venue has also been reserved for April 26, in case the game is played then.
“Every partnership and contribution brings the initiative closer to making the Wilmington Arena a cornerstone of the community, where sports and events will unite and inspire for generations to come,” project organizers said.
