Brady Tkachuk’s celebrations after winning gold with Team USA’s men’s hockey team were interrupted by a random drug test.

The 26-year-old NHL player for the Ottawa Senators shared in a recent episode of his podcast, Wingmen, co-hosted with his brother Matthew Tkachuk, that he was tapped for a random drug test. This came shortly after his gold medal win against Team Canada in the Milan Olympics.

“I got snatched after the game, after you do like the media. There’s like a mixed media scrum. I get out, I’m like ‘F*** yeah, let’s go have some beers and party,'” Brady said. “I get a tap on the shoulder. ‘Hello Brady, you’ve been selected for a drug test.'”

Matthew then explained the listeners what the drug testing system entails at the Olympics. Particularly, how the individual who administers the drug test cannot leave an athlete’s side until the test is finished.

“So, we’re in the locker room partying and Brady’s buddy, you know, little Johnny the drug tester, is like just sitting in the corner like just, you know, arms crossed and just watching us have the greatest time,” Matthew recalled.

Brady recalled that two of his other teammates were also randomly tapped for drug testing following the game.

The men’s hockey team got up to a lot of celebrating while in Milan which continued in a controversial visit to Washington, D.C. to see President Donald Trump. Only five players declined Trump’s invitation to the State of the Union address and none of the women’s team chose to attend.
