The Edmonton Oilers took a 2-1 series advantage over the Dallas Stars on Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 beatdown at Rogers Place.

A glaring difference between the two Western Conference finals teams is that Edmonton has superstar Connor McDavid on its side, and the postgame quotes reflected just that. McDavid scored a pair of goals to help lift the Oilers to the win.

Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner

On the difference of playing an early game:

“I actually don’t remember the last time we had an early game like this…So it was definitely different. It’s a quick turnaround too, no time to practice.”

On Connor McDavid’s performance:

“I mean, he was fantastic. The way that he plays in all 3 ends of the ice has been very impressive for the whole playoffs.”

Oilers center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

On Connor McDavid’s 2nd period goal:

“Most of the time it’s about when you score, not how many. It was a big moment…they were pushing and to put one in right before the 3rd is big time for us.”
