Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser, who signed a long-term contract with the club on Canada Day last summer, has made a big decision ahead of the trade deadline.

We’re officially one week away from the National Hockey League’s trade deadline for the 2025-26 season and it’s shaping up to be a busy one for the Vancouver Canucks as Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford continue to listen offers on most of their players, aside from defenseman Filip Hronek, who’s not available.

“We may end up saying no to offers, certainly, but we’re not going to say no to having conversations about any player. This is about improving this team without taking shortcuts.” Rutherford said.

Amid the team’s rebuilding plans, trading away their pending unrestricted free agents has been a big priority for Patrik Allvin, but it looks like they’re willing to go beyond that over the next week, with Tyler Myers drawing interest and Brock Boeser making a big decision regarding his future with the club.

During Thursday’s edition of Insider Trading, TSN insider Darren Dreger revealed some big news about Brock Boeser and his future with the Vancouver Canucks organization.

“It’s interesting to me that Brock Boeser’s name is out there. This guy just signed a seven-year contract with the Canucks on July 1st. Now, is he willing to move?” Dreger said.

He added, “Well, he is, if there’s a fit that makes sense to Boeser and his family. He’s a playoff performer, so teams will express some interest.”

It’s far from a guarantee that Brock Boeser will be moved however, especially given how much term is remaining on his contract and how much money he’s owed – $7.25 million annually, but there’s no doubt there will be interest over the next week.

One team that would make a lot of sense is the Minnesota Wild in Brock Boeser’s home state as they could use some more offensive firepower for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the organization looking to make it past the first round for the first time in over a decade.
