Keagan Smith shares his favorite NHL player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s 13-game slate.
The NHL is ramping back up following the Olympic break as teams get back into the swing of things. On Saturday, there’s a massive slate with 13 games across the day beginning at 12:30 p.m. EST through the usual late window at 10 p.m. What are the top matchups here?
In the Pacific Division, Oilers vs. Sharks pits Olympic linemates Connor McDavid and Macklin Celebrini against each other.
Red Wings vs. Hurricanes is an Eastern Conference clash between likely playoff contenders.
In a similar vein, Capitals vs. Canadiens brings plenty of intrigue as a potential postseason preview.
Whichever you choose to watch, here are the top NHL player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday, February 28!

Best NHL prop bets for Saturday 2/28/26
Connor McDavid 2+ points (-120)
There’s something to be said about minus odds on a pair of points, but that only goes to show just how dominant Connor McDavid is. We all the the Oilers’ superstar is one of the most talented players to ever touch the ice, and despite some talk that he’d miss a couple of games coming out of the Olympic break, he’s already back and in peak form. It’s not shocking given that the Canadian set a new IIHF record for points in an Olympic tournament while in Italy over the last couple of weeks, but the grueling competition doesn’t seem to have taken too much of a toll on his body. McDavid notched two points in Edmonton’s first game back on Wednesday in a 6-5 loss to the Ducks, then logged another two points in an 8-1 win over the Kings on Thursday.
With two points in each of his last two contests, I like McDavid to keep building a streak tonight against a weak San Jose blue line. The Sharks have offense but lack standout defensemen across their pairings, allowing the second-most SOG (30.6/GM) and third-most goals against (3.50/GM). Young netminder Yaroslav Askarov is likely in goal for them as well, bringing an .889 SV% with a 3.52 GAA. The Oilers’ high-powered offense should take advantage of the matchup as McDavid leads the way with a pair of points. For what it’s worth, the star produced two points with a goal and an assist in the last matchup between these sides on January 29.
Nikita Kucherov anytime goalscorer (+115)
The Tampa Bay Lightning were one of the NHL’s hottest teams heading into the Olympic break. Since January 1, they’re 15-2-1 with an average of 4.11 goals per game, a scorching pace that saw them handily overtake the rest of the Atlantic for the division lead. At the forefront of that surge is Nikita Kucherov, who’s looking like a Hart Trophy candidate after catching fire on this stretch. The Russian is tied for second in the NHL in total points with 95, placing him neck-and-neck with Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon. His 1.79 P/GM pace is actually tops in the entire league as well, and he sits tied for fifth in goals with 31 on the year despite playing anywhere between three-to-seven fewer games than the players ahead of him.
Dating back to December 27, Kucherov has scored a total of 18 goals across 21 games, putting a puck in the back of the net in 15 of those contests. While the Lightning are 1-1 since the season resumed, they have eight goals across two games and the offense is clearly still clicking. Kucherov has a goal in each of those two outings and should feel pretty fresh after getting a few weeks to let his body recover as well. While the opposing Sabres are 14th in goals allowed with 3.03 per game, they do concede the sixth-most SOG to opponents at 30.0. Kucherov can certainly light the lamp again tonight.
