The Seattle Kraken have inked defenceman Gustav Olofsson to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775K, the team announced Monday.
Olofsson, 31, was previously under contract with Seattle’s AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where he recorded two goals and 14 assists across 29 games played this season.
The 6-foot-2, left-shot blueliner last appeared in an NHL game during the 2023-24 season, and has played in just four contests for Seattle since signing with the team in free agency in 2021.
We’re happy to have Gustav under contract with our team,” said Kraken general manager Jason Botterill. “He’s been a steady, veteran presence in Coachella and brings depth to our blueline.”
Shortly after the announcement, Olofsson was placed on waivers for the purpose of being reassigned back to the AHL.
