The Flyers had a considerable absence Monday night in Toronto.

Travis Konecny was out against the Maple Leafs because of an upper-body injury. The Flyers have considered him day to day.

With Konecny missing his second game of the season, Denver Barkey drew back into the lineup.

After the Flyers’ 3-1 win two days ago over the Bruins, Konecny was unavailable to the media postgame, a possible sign that he was receiving treatment for an injury. He had a goal and an assist in the victory.

The Flyers will hope Konecny doesn’t have to miss much time. He leads the team in goals (23) and points (57) over 58 games. He has been on an excellent run while playing banged up.

“I feel like every year, it seems like he’s a guy that has a stretch where he keeps us in it,” Noah Cates said a little under two weeks ago. “Kind of when we’ve faltered, he has been huge for us lately. He needs the support around him. He’s kind of our guy obviously, he pushes us into the fight, but we need more guys following him, taking after him. He needs some support and consistency around him.”
