We have some blockbuster NHL trade rumors to talk about as the March 6th deadline is now less than 54 hours away. The Philadelphia Flyers held practice yesterday, so we have some updates from that as well.

We also have a handful of smaller trades to look at.

So, without wasting any time, let’s get into the 3/4 edition of the PhHN Daily!

Flyers news & NHL trade rumors

Philly Hockey Now: The Flyers held practice on Tuesday ahead of their Wednesday day off, and Thursday date with the Mammoth. There were four absences on Tuesday, including Travis Konecny and Nick Seeler, who are both injured. The other two players were out for maintenance days: Rasmus Ristolainen and Christian Dvorak. Here is what you need to know about Flyers practice.

Sportsnet: Nick Kypreos released his trade board 5.0. There were three Flyers on the list. Unshockingly, Ristolainen is one, but who are the other two?

New, let’s get into some of the blockbusters. Darren Dreger was all over what is expected to be the biggest trade rumors all week. He reported yesterday that the Buffalo Sabres have emerged as the frontrunner for Robert Thomas in what was expected to be a blockbuster deal. In an update, he said the teams went the distance, but Buffalo wasn’t willing to part with the ask.

Update: It’s believed St Louis/Buffalo went the distance on Thomas trade talks. Sounds like the Sabres aren’t willing to part with the necessary pieces. (Prospects, Player, 1st). Still teams nibbling, but the Blues are firm in what the return needs to be for the young center.

The alleged ask is insane.

The alleged proposed package from the Sabres for Robert Thomas includes Owen Power, Konsta Helenius, and potentially Jack Quinn, per @J_Swish24.

Maybe not a “blockbuster” trade, but a big one nonetheless. Stefen Rosner reports that the Islanders are in discussions with the Canucks for Connor Garland.

There are serious discussions happening between #Isles & #Canucks.

Been told it’s surrounding Garland. But was also told that it could be Garland +.

We’ll see how this plays out.

A deal has not yet happened.

NHL.com: Now, let’s look at Nashville’s pair of trades. Retiring GM Barry Trotz was busy on Tuesday, dealing two forwards ahead of the NHL trade deadline. He traded Michael McCarron to the Minnesota Wild for a 2nd rounder and Cole Smith to the Vegas Golden Knights for a third-rounder. A busy day in Music City.

New Jersey Hockey Now: The New Jersey Devils are sellers. One player that is gaining interest is the 2022 2nd overall pick, Simon Nemec. New Jersey could reportedly trade him for some forward help. Could this be a potential hockey trade?
