The Philadelphia Flyers announced that Travis Konecny was a scratch for Monday’s game as he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Well, when it rains, it pours for the Flyers.
Defenseman Nick Seeler exited Monday’s game against the Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury, and per team PR, will not return to the game.
It is unclear when the injury occurred, but the Flyers’ defenseman was last on the ice with about four minutes to go in the second period.
Seeler, despite a third-pair role, is a big factor on the team’s blueline. He can play up and down the lineup, and either side. Seeler has also been a reliable penalty killer throughout his entire Flyers tenure.
The veteran defender has been a stable stay-at-home, defensive defenseman, and the team’s best shot-blocker. This year, he has 2 goals and 8 total points in 60 games played, and a -3 +/-.
An update will be provided when one becomes available.
