New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat has been fined $2,500 by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for unsportsmanlike conduct.

In Saturday’s game between the Islanders and San Jose Sharks, Horvat shoved the visor of Sharks forward William Eklund, pushing his helmet back as he was sitting on the bench.

Horvat went on to score the overtime winner for the 2-1 victory.

The 30-year-old has 27 goals and 44 points in 50 games with the Islanders this season.

He represented Canada at the 2026 Olympics in Milan, scoring two goals in six games as the Canadians earned silver.

The London, Ont., native has skated in 863 career NHL games, scoring 296 goals with 605 points, split between the Vancouver Canucks and Islanders.
