In the aftermath of the San Jose Sharks’ 2-1 overtime loss to the New York Islanders, forward Bo Horvat walked away with a $2,500 fine.

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Sunday that the Islanders forward was fined for unsportsmanlike conduct for an incident involving San Jose’s bench.

Although the league didn’t officially release video of the incident, fans online have found a clip involving Horvat and San Jose Sharks forward William Eklund.

The game got very chippy as it went on, and head coach Ryan Warsofsky didn’t seem to mind, at least to some extent. Macklin Celebrini was hit a couple of times throughout the game, as it seemed the Islanders were taking extra liberties against the superstar.

“If we’re gonna play in the playoffs, that’s what it’s gonna be like. So we’ve got to get comfortable,” Warsofsky said. “We gotta get comfortable being a little uncomfortable at times. That’s what the game is.”

While the San Jose Sharks coach took a look at this, this is what to expect in the playoffs. Celebrini was much more frustrated. Celebrini was visibly frustrated and did not want to talk about the officials, which was probably the right move. The Sharks forward was also asked about Mat Barzal and other players potentially putting a target on him.

After a 3-1-2 homestand out of the Olympic break, the Sharks now go on a five-game road trip. The trip begins against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday.
