Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes:

The Flyers lost their last game 3-0 to the Mammoth on Thursday. In their previous five games, the Flyers have a 3-2-0 record, scoring two goals per game while conceding 2.2. The trade deadline has come and gone with the likes of Bobby Brink and Nic Delauriers off to new teams. The Flyers have a 1-2-0 record against the Penguins this season.

Pittsburgh Penguins & Notes:

The Penguins lost 5-1 in their last game on Thursday night to the Buffalo Sabres. In their previous five games, they have a 2-2-1 record, scoring 2.6 goals per game while allowing 2.2. The Penguins’ Captain Sidney Crosby returned to practice in a non-contact jersey Friday, but is still expected to miss today’s game. They will also be without Evgeni Malkin, who will be serving his five-game suspension after his slash to Rasmus Dahlin during Thursday night’s game. Malkin is eligible to return on March 16th against the Avalanche. The timing of the suspension, paired with Crosby’s injury, is going to make things interesting in the Metropolitan Division, with the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders close behind the Penguins, who currently hold second place in the division.
