After a short one-game road trip, the Philadelphia Flyers are back in action at home against the New York Rangers on Monday at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Philly has been quite hot since the Olympic break, winning four of the six games and four of its last five. They are 5-3-2 over the last 10 games.

The Rangers are the opposite, as their struggles continue. The Rangers are 3-5-2 over the last 10 games, and 2-1-2 over the last five.

Game Notes

Nick Seeler and Travis Konecny each remain game-time decisions for Monday. However, based on the participants at Monday’s optional morning skate, it feels like barring a major setback, both players will draw into the lineup. Along with Konecny and Seeler, the other skaters were Emil Andrae, Garnet Hathaway, and Luke Glendenning.

Andrae and Hathaway were last on the ice along with Sam Ersson, so it seems like a good indication that they will be the scratches on Monday.

That said, Dan Vladar will be making his sixth start since the Olympic break ended, and his fifth consecutive. The Flyers know that if they want a chance to make the playoffs, they have to go on a big-time points streak. They are clearly riding their starting goalie here.

Assuming Konecny returns to the lineup, I do wonder how that will change the Flyers’ lines. I would assume he’d have a spot on the top line back, and that they’d move Nikita Grebenkin rather than Alex Bump. However, I guess we won’t really find out until warm-ups.
