Mark Scheifele has been named the NHL’s First Star of the Week.

The league and Winnipeg Jets announced Scheifele was the first star after tallying eight points—three goals and five assists—this past week.

He had three points against the Chicago Blackhawks, which included scoring the game-winning goal in overtime. He followed that up against Tampa Bay by scoring the game winner again and adding an assist in a 4-1 win. Then on Saturday, he had a goal and two assists in the 3-2 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks.

So far in 62 games, Scheifele has 30 goals and 48 assists for 78 points.

Scheifele has been named one of the three stars of the week nine times in his NHL career and he is the first Winnipeg Jet to get the honour for this season.

Joining Scheifele was Martin Necas of the Colorado Avalanche in the second slot and Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres was named the third star.
